The four musicians Ace Frehley handpicked for his Australian tour in 2018 — Philip Shouse on bass, Ryan Spencer Cook on guitar/vocals, Jeremy Asbrock on guitar/vocals, and Christopher Williams on drums — are returning to the country where it all began.
This time, they will perform Frehley's 1978 solo album in full, along with KISS classics, FREHLEY'S COMET anthems, other Ace solo songs, and deep cuts for the diehards.
Supporting them on this trek is KISS KLASSIC, Adelaide's elite collective assembled only for occasions of this scale with deep-rooted connections to the KISS universe.
They will be playing a carefully curated set of Ace deep cuts.
Also appearing on the bill will be KISSIT, one of Australia's most respected KISS tributes from Brisbane, playing a 1982-1992 set.
The tour kicks off in Perth, with dates planned for Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
Shouse, Cook, Asbrock, and Williams will also pay tribute to Frehley's memory on April 17 at Eastside Bowl in Madison, Tennessee., In October of last year, Ace Frehley passed away at the age of 74 due to blunt-trauma injuries sustained from a fall at his home.
A CT scan revealed multiple contusions and bone fractures to the back of his skull, hemorrhages, and subdural hematoma.
The legendary musician's funeral was attended by Simmons and Stanley among other band members.
They paid their respects to Frehley in a private memorial held on October 21.
The late KISS icon was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, New York.
Frehley first left KISS in 1982 after disagreements with Simmons and Stanley whom he blamed for exacerbating his abuse of drugs and alcohol due to their alleged minimizing of his contributions.
He rejoined the band in 1996 but left again in 2002 after the conclusion of the band's first 'farewell tour.' Since his departure, guitarist Tommy Thayer had assumed the role of the Spaceman., Earlier in October, Frehley scrapped the remainder of his previously announced 2025 tour dates due to unspecified medical issues.
The legendary rocker also pulled out of the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California after sustaining minor injuries from a fall at his home.
Frehley had maintained a rocky relationship with Simmons and Stanley whom he accused of being untrustworthy control freaks.
In response, Frehley called Simmons and Stanley 'control freaks' in an interview last year.
Ace said he got sober in 2006 after reflecting on his life choices following a conversation with his daughter Monique., In 2024, Frehley recalled how his daughter's words inspired him to give up drinking entirely.
He credited her with saving his life after realizing the reality of his situation during that evening meeting.
In this sense, the legacy lives through his band and their fans.
