Metal veteran Alex Skolnick has revealed in a new interview with eonmusic that he auditioned for the Spin Doctors, but ultimately didn't join the band.

Skolnick, known for his work with Testament and Metal Allegiance, was discussing Metal Allegiance's latest single “Black Horizon,” featuring Alice in Chains' William Duvall.

In the interview, Skolnick mentioned that he had been approached by Ozzy Osbourne's camp as well.

He stated that he hadn't been approached by any other bands over the years because of his association with thrash metal.

Metal Allegiance recently released their brooding new single “Black Horizon,” which features Skolnick on guitar and William Duvall on vocals.

The song is a dark and apocalyptic tale, with Skolnick's guitar work painting a grim picture.
