Legendary rock performer Alice Cooper, who turned 78 in February, has confirmed no plans for retirement, stating that his touring and performing will continue as long as he remains physically and emotionally capable. In a recent appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk," Cooper emphasized that retirement is not part of his vision, citing long-time rock icons like Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, and Rod Stewart as examples of lifers who remain active in music despite age. He explained that his performance energy has never waned, attributing his stamina to a disciplined lifestyle that includes abstaining from alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes since 1982. Cooper credited his enduring physical condition to a combination of regular physical activity, including long-distance running in Arizona, and a strong, 50-year marriage to his wife Sheryl, who remains an active member of the Alice Cooper show.

Cooper has maintained a consistent touring schedule for decades, performing hundreds of shows annually, and expressed that the interruption due to the pandemic was a shock to his routine. He reaffirmed that his passion for live performance stems from a deep personal connection to music and stagecraft, stating that the act of singing and performing is what he truly enjoys. He noted that his vocal range remains stable because he sings in the middle range, avoiding high notes that could strain his voice.

The artist has previously dismissed the idea of a farewell tour, echoing his 2023 statement that such thoughts have never crossed his mind. He views his performances not as a career milestone, but as a lifelong commitment, influenced by artists like Mick Jagger, who continues to perform three-hour shows. Cooper remains dedicated to maintaining the theatrical intensity of his stage show, which includes electric chairs, guillotines, and live animals, a legacy that continues to define his impact on rock music.

As of now, no official tour dates have been announced, but Cooper has reiterated that his performance schedule will continue until he can no longer deliver the energy required to perform the character of Alice as he designed it.
