AMON AMARTH has confirmed the release of their upcoming album "The Allfather Awakens", set for October 2 via Metal Blade Records. The 13th studio album since 1998's "Once Sent From The Golden Hall" is the band's first to feature 11 recorded tracks, with one song ultimately shelved despite its potential. Guitarists Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg wrote all songs intended for the album, with the final track, "The Allfather Awakes", written last.

The album draws inspiration from Norse mythology, with Oden, the Norse 'all father', serving as the central figure. Though the album is not a concept piece, it weaves historically inspired tales of conflict and sacrifice. Danish producer Jacob Hansen oversaw the recording, which took place in two sessions: spring 2025 and March 2026, with the band writing songs during tours rather than waiting for downtime.

AMON AMARTH has shifted their sonic approach, moving away from 5150 amps to Marshalls. The album cover, a powerful portrait of Oden by Tom Thiel, mirrors the band's previous visual identity, with Thiel having created seven of the band's album covers.

In addition to the album, AMON AMARTH will unveil a new live production inspired by Oden's Golden Hall during their 2026 North American tour with DETHKLOK and CASTLE RAT. The tour follows years of global performances, including headlining Wacken Open Air in 2024 and Bloodstock Open Air twice. The band also introduced the fan phenomenon 'The Row' with the 2022 single "Put Your Back Into The Oar", which has since inspired similar actions at events worldwide.
