Canadian progressive metal band Anciients has announced their first European and UK tour in more than a decade. The tour, titled 2026 Ascent Of The Fallen Ones, kicks off on September 26 in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, and runs through October 15, concluding in Bragança, Portugal. The tour includes stops in Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Spain, with performances at venues such as Euroblast, The Black Heart, The Lodge, and Razzmatazz 3.

The lineup features Anciients' current members, who won a Juno Award in 2025 for their album Beyond The Reach Of The Sun. The band is also releasing a re-recorded version of "Humanist," originally recorded for their 2011 EP Snakebeard and included as a bonus track on 2013’s Heart Of Oak. The 2026 version features backing vocals from former member Chris Dyck.

The re-recording follows their 2025 re-recording of "Built To Die" and reflects the band's commitment to revisiting foundational tracks. In a separate announcement, BraveWords Records has released the new album PRIOR CONVICTIONS by Alcatrazz. The album features two new tracks, "Transylvanian Requiem" and "Stand and Wait Your Turn," with the latter serving as a strong rocker.

The release marks a bridge between Alcatrazz’s past and future, with the album showcasing Joe Stump’s guitar work and new material.
