In a new interview with Peter Kerr of Rock Daydream Nation, guitarist Andy Scott of the legendary rock band Sweet was asked about his ongoing involvement with the group.

Despite no longer being part of the original lineup and having previously toured with his own version of the band, Scott stated that he still feels compelled to continue performing under the Sweet banner.

"You have to be a bit OCD to tour and to be in a studio because you're listening to the same thing over and over and over," Scott explained.

"No Sweet gig is exactly the same because things happen on stage, and I say things to the audience that I hadn't planned to say." The 76-year-old musician also spoke about his personal struggles, including health issues and feelings of mortality, but expressed determination to keep touring with his current lineup, which features Paul Manzi (lead vocals), Lee Small (bass guitar/vocals), Tom Cory (guitars/keys/vocals) and Adam Booth (drums/percussion).

This comes after Scott's former bandmates Brian Connolly, Steve Priest and Mick Tucker passed away, but Scott has continued to perform with his own version of the group.

A new studio album, "Full Circle", was released in September 2024 via Metalville Records, marking what Scott described as Sweet's final studio album ever.

Scott-led Sweet will embark on their "Final Blitz Tour" of Australia in October and November 2026.
