Anthrax has confirmed the release of their 12th full-length studio album, Cursum Perficio, on September 18 via Megaforce Records. The record marks the band's first release in ten years since 2016’s For All Kings, with the title drawn from Latin, meaning "My journey has come to an end" or "I complete my journey."
The album will be available in multiple formats including standard CD, Target exclusive CD with a fabric patch, black double LP with pop-up gatefold, Amazon exclusive purple zoetrope LP, and a Metal Injection exclusive white vinyl double LP with pop-up gatefold. A special in-store signing event will take place in Louisville, KY, beginning at 12:01 AM on September 18, immediately following their performance at the Louder Than Life festival. Fans must pre-order the album through Guestroom Records to attend.
Anthrax will perform at the grand re-opening of the Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn on Friday, September 4. The band will also play a series of dates across North America, including Montréal, Harrison, NJ, Los Angeles, and San Antonio, with shows scheduled through October in Mexico City. The tour includes a special appearance at the Louder Than Life festival on September 17.
The new single "Everybody’s Got a Plan" was released with a video shot primarily during Anthrax’s July 7, 2026, tour with Iron Maiden in Lisbon, Portugal. The video features live performance footage and behind-the-scenes clips, with cutaways to classic B&W boxing footage reflecting the song’s lyrics. The band has also released a series of uniquely animated short clips based on the album cover, with new character stories unveiled every Tuesday, concluding with the character "Hands" on September 1.
The album was recorded in Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles and produced by Jay Ruston and Anthrax. It includes tracks such as "The Long Goodbye," "Infectious," "NYC93," and "T.O.M.B."
Anthrax will also release a live recording of the track "The Edge Of Perfection" as part of the album’s promotional rollout.
