ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello has reflected on his musical upbringing and early days with the band in a series of interviews.

In one conversation, he spoke about how music helped him cope with personal struggles after his father's passing.

He cited Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler, and Steve Harris as key influences on his bass playing.

Bello also recalled his debut show with ANTHRAX more than four decades ago, saying that he was initially nervous but went on to have a successful audition for the band.

He credited Charlie Benante, drummer of ANTHRAX, with helping him through the process.

In another interview, Bello discussed how he first learned to play bass and his early musical influences.

He mentioned learning IRON MAIDEN's album 'Killers' riff by riff on his bedroom bed, which became a makeshift stage for him to practice and imagine himself performing in front of a sold-out crowd.

Bello has also been open about his personal struggles and how they have affected the band over the years.

In 2024, he sat out ANTHRAX's South American tour due to 'personal reasons,' with founding member Dan Lilker filling in for him.

The bassist has also released a memoir called 'Fathers, Brothers, And Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, And Anthrax' in October 2021.

The book explores his personal story and experiences within the band.
