Metal legends Anthrax have announced their long-awaited new album Cursum Perficio, set to drop on September 18 via Megaforce Records.
The band's first record in ten years since 2016's For All Kings, Cursum Perficio marks a return to form for the quintet.
The album's lead single and video "It's For The Kids" is out now, showcasing Anthrax's signature blend of aggressive riffs, explosive drumming, and melodic hooks.
"It's For The Kids" has all the makings of a future live staple, with its classic Anthrax sound merged with modern flair.
Lyrically, the song finds Ian celebrating his fans while addressing personal growth within the band.
The album was produced by Jay Ruston and Anthrax, and marks a culmination of everything the band has learned since their last record Worship Music in 2011.
Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian notes that the album needed a four-minute thrash song like "It's For The Kids," which represents all the best parts of Anthrax in a very angry package.
The video for "It's For The Kids" was shot on a freezing day in Pennsylvania, capturing the band and fans enjoying the experience together.
The tracklist for Cursum Perficio includes Persistence Of Memory, The Long Goodbye, It's For The Kids, Everybody's Got A Plan, The Edge Of Perfection, Infectious, NYC93, Cursum Perficio, T.O.M.B., Watch It Go, and My Victory.
Anthrax recently completed a cross Canada tour with Megadeth and Exodus, and are currently criss-crossing the globe with dates booked until early October.
Cursum Perficio will be available in multiple formats including standard CD, vinyl, digital platforms, and a limited-edition box set.
