Metalcore veterans As I Lay Dying are preparing to lock in on their ninth studio album.

The band, led by vocalist Tim Lambesis, is currently touring Russia and will conclude with a final show in Israel later this month.

Bassist and vocalist Chris Clancy shared with Egor Erushin that the new album is already well underway.

"We've got all the songs ready.

We've got way more songs than we need, and we've been whittling through 'em.

So we're gonna sit down while we're on the road, actually, and kind of do some more development to the songs.

And when we get back home after the tour, we're gonna really start recording it," Clancy explained.

The lineup has undergone significant changes in recent years, with a second mass exodus of members in 2024 and a rebuilt roster in 2025.

Despite this, the band remains committed to releasing new music, with Lambesis emphasizing that their priority will be to focus on the upcoming album after the tour.

As I Lay Dying is currently touring with Bill Hudson and Don Vedda on guitar, Chris Clancy on bass and vocals, and Tim Yeung on drums.

The real question is what markets will care about a new As I Lay Dying record in 2026, considering Lambesis' history and the lack of any remaining original members.
