Swedish death metal legends At the Gates have announced their final album with vocalist Tomas Lindberg will be released this year.

The band formed in 1990 and emerged alongside Dark Tranquillity and In Flames to define what would become known as the mid-90s Gothenburg Sound.

Before their initial split in 1996, At the Gates released four landmark albums, culminating with 1995's Slaughter of the Soul.

Their reunion after a decade-long hiatus led to continued performances and releases, including studio albums To Drink from the Night Itself, The Nightmare of Being, and now The Ghost of a Future Dead.
