Canadian melodic death metal band Atavistia has announced a 16-date tour in support of its latest full-length album, Old Gods Awaken, set to run from September 25 through October 11, 2026. The tour begins at Vancouver’s Wise Hall on September 25, where Atavistia will perform with Finnish folk metal band Ensiferum and Greek power metal act Firewind. The trek will traverse British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec, concluding in Montreal.

Omniesia will join Atavistia for shows in Kamloops, Calgary, and Edmonton, while Quebec-based folk/melodic death metal band Trollwar joins the tour beginning October 3 in Sarnia and remains on the bill through the Montreal finale on October 11. The tour features a diverse lineup of supporting acts, highlighting regional metal scenes across Canada.

Old Gods Awaken, released May 15, 2026 via Blood Blast Distribution, marks Atavistia’s most folk-oriented record to date. It blends early-2000s folk metal influences with the band’s signature orchestral arrangements, aggressive melodic death metal, and technical musicianship. The album includes tracks such as "Mystic Tavern", "Seeker Of Time", "To A New World", "I Skogens Djup", and the eleven-minute title track.

The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Mattias Sippola, recorded at Atavistic Studios with drummer Max Sepulveda, and features artwork by Costin Chioreanu. The current lineup includes Mattias Sippola on guitar and vocals, Max Sepulveda on drums, Elia Baghbaniyan on guitar, and Spencer Budworth on bass and vocals. The final solo album of original material by Paul Di’Anno, Iron Maiden’s legendary lead singer, is also now available on colored vinyl via BraveWords Records.
