Spanish death metal band Avulsed has revealed the first details of its upcoming release, Nordic Embryogenesis.
This album pays tribute to the roots of Scandinavian Death Metal through a covers album featuring tracks from cult demos and EPs that have been unfairly forgotten by time.
The band had to decipher note by note directly from old recordings, and even recovered lyrics from virtually impossible-to-find sources for this monumental reconstruction process.
The eleven songs will be unveiled individually over an eight-week period, each accompanied by its own exclusive artwork.
Avulsed will not reveal the tracklist or names of the bands being covered beforehand.
Nordic Embryogenesis is scheduled for release on CD, 12″ LP, cassette, and digital formats through Xtreem Music on September 9th.
The drums were recorded at The Empty Hall Studios (Madrid), guitars tracked between March and May at Acórdica Studios (Zaragoza), vocals recorded at Sanctuary Studios (Cáceres), mixing handled by Alejandro Lobo at Acórdica Studios during May and June, and mastering carried out by Davide Billia at MKII Studios in Italy.
The cover artwork was created by Indonesian artist Rudi Yanto.
