In a new interview with Sonar FM radio station, bassist Jay Bentley of punk rock legends BAD RELIGION discussed the band's future and their approach to songwriting.
When asked if fans should be 'happy or depressed' about the fact that some of the band's lyrics are still relevant today, Bentley responded: 'Yeah, we're gonna take depressed.
Yeah, for real.
Seriously.' He noted that he and his bandmates prefer to focus on universal themes such as humanism rather than targeting specific individuals or politicians.
Discussing their critically acclaimed album "Age Of Unreason", Bentley stated that the record's themes of socio-political maladies were still relevant today.
When asked if he thought the world was experiencing an 'immense ideological regression', Bentley replied: 'I do.' He attributed this to the proliferation of social media and people's willingness to follow any narrative.
BAD RELIGION has been a driving force in punk rock for nearly four decades, continually pushing boundaries and questioning authority through their propulsive sound and thoughtful lyrics.",
