Birmingham, England's Becky Baldwin has released a video featuring her bass cover of Iron Maiden's 'Powerslave,' the title track from their 1984 studio album.

This is not the first time Baldwin has covered an Iron Maiden song, having previously released a bass cover of 'Book Of Thel' from Bruce Dickinson's solo album The Chemical Wedding in 1998.

Baldwin officially joined Mercyful Fate as their permanent bassist in January 2024.

Says Baldwin, "I've been inspired by the recent announcement from @ironmaiden about their big Knebworth show now expanding to become 'Eddfest'! So I thought I'd bust out one of my favourite Steve Harris basslines, the fantastic ' Powerslave!'",Baldwin previously released a bass cover of "Book Of Thel," a track from Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson's solo release.

I've watched a bunch of different videos from different eras, where arrangements are changed around.

Who's gonna take that atmospheric, droning intro? I think bass makes sense here, but I preferred doing the start+stop riff in the outro.

What do you think? As much as I love Iron Maiden and Steve Harris, I think this Bruce's The Chemical Wedding album is too often overlooked, and features fantastic bass playing by Eddie Casillas.
