Birmingham, England's Becky Baldwin, the permanent bassist of Mercyful Fate since January 2024, has shared a video featuring her bass cover of Anthrax's song “Madhouse,” wielded on a signature Frank Bello Spector bass.

The video showcases Baldwin's skills and dedication to her craft.

In an interview with Canada's The Metal Voice, Baldwin revealed the status of Mercyful Fate's plans for touring and new studio album.

She stated that while there is an album in the works, she wasn't sure about the time frame.

However, she mentioned that they have a full album instrumentally complete, but it needs rearranging and vocals to be added.

When asked if they had allowed her to contribute musically to the new album, Baldwin replied that Hank and King are doing the writing, but she was given free rein to try different bass approaches.

She also noted that they prefer to record the bass after the vocals, which is an interesting approach.

Regarding whether it would be a full album or EP, Baldwin mentioned that King Diamond's next project is his new album, and Mercyful Fate has enough material for an album but might consider releasing it as an EP due to the current music industry landscape.

She also noted that metalheads still want albums, but the industry operates differently now.
