Polish extreme metal veterans BEHEMOTH have unleashed a visually striking and fiercely thematic music video for “Nomen Barbarvm,” a standout track from their critically acclaimed latest album, The Shit Ov God.

The apocalyptic video is steeped in symbolism, drawing on occult traditions and the deliberate subversion of religious iconography—hallmarks of BEHEMOTH’s artistic mission. High-end cinematic production defines the clip, with dramatic lighting, elaborate costuming, and special effects driving a dark, epic narrative.

In a recent interview with Australia’s Heavy, frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski addressed the challenge of staying creatively fresh:

“Obviously, it’s more and more demanding, more challenging.”

Reflecting on past inspirations, he added:

“But I kind of zeroed myself, because I remember thinking, ‘Fucking hell.’ I stole this Opvs Contra Natvram title from [psychiatrist Carl] Jung…”

Nergal further explained the philosophical core of the song:

“‘I create as I speak.’ Isn’t that, in essence, Crowley’s ‘Do what thou wilt’?”

That concept became the lyrical leitmotif of “Nomen Barbarvm,” which he describes as one of the most melodic yet deeply groove-driven tracks BEHEMOTH have ever recorded.
