Enigmatic black metal masters Uada have announced their upcoming acoustic album Interwoven, due out April 10 via Eisenwald Records.

A stark reimagining of the band’s catalog, Interwoven features one song from each era of Uada’s discography alongside select covers honoring key influences.

To mark the announcement, Uada have unveiled a haunting acoustic version of Nirvana’s “Something in the Way,” accompanied by a new video. The clip was filmed and edited by Karl Whinnery, directed by Jake Superchi, with Evan Gandy serving as co–director of photography, pairing the song’s minimalism with bleak, restrained visuals.

Reflecting on the inclusion of covers, the band stated:

“When Uada was formed, a rule was set: no covers, in pursuit of carving a wholly independent voice. With Interwoven, we allowed ourselves to bend that rule.”

They added:

“While staying close to the original arrangement, we allowed our interpretation to take on its own bleak, glacial weight — one that echoes through the song’s timeless sorrow.”

A prominent cello runs throughout the album, adding cinematic weight to acoustic reworkings of Uada staples such as “Djinn,” “Devoid of Light,” and “The Dark Winter,” while also reshaping covers like Rome’s “Der Brandtaucher.”

Interwoven is available for pre-order now.
