In a heartfelt New Year's Day video message, heavy metal pioneer Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath shared his plans for the year ahead and confirmed that his long-awaited third solo album is on its way in 2026.

The year 2025 was significant for Iommi, marking a poignant reunion with original bandmates Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for a final, high-profile farewell performance in Birmingham.

This event was followed by the unexpected passing of Ozzy Osbourne, casting a somber note over the occasion.

Iommi's video message reflected on several major projects from the past year, including the successful return of Black Sabbath – The Ballet and his collaboration with Robbie Williams, as well as various releases tied to his legacy.

He confirmed that work on his solo album resumed after the Sabbath performance in July 2025 and revealed that it will feature one singer, with Geezer Butler hinting at a Swedish vocalist collaborating with Iommi.

A new documentary centered on Iommi's life and career is also in development through Gibson.
