Blaze Bayley, the former Iron Maiden singer who fronted the band more than 25 years ago, has been added to the list of musicians nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class Of 2026.
This is Iron Maiden's third nomination in as many years.
Despite being excluded from the initial nominee announcement last February, Bayley's name was added to the list of potential inductees following a change made on the Rock Hall website.
The addition brings Iron Maiden's membership roster back up to date after being temporarily missing from the list earlier this year.
In 2021, when Iron Maiden was first nominated for induction, Bayley was not included in the initial list of band members who were considered for the honor.
However, his name was among those initially listed on the Rock Hall website along with other former members Paul Di'Anno and Clive Burr.
In a recent interview with Brazil's Heavy Culture, Bayley expressed little concern over being excluded from the initial nominee announcement, stating that "it's not the decision of the band" and emphasizing his friendship with Iron Maiden's remaining members.
Despite some critical chart performances on albums 'The X Factor' and 'Virtual XI,' Iron Maiden remains one of heavy metal's most iconic bands.
The British legends have released 17 full-length studio records since their self-titled debut album, selling over 100 million copies worldwide.
Iron Maiden has been eligible for induction into the Rock Hall since 1999, but its status as one of rock's most influential acts has only grown in recent years.
With KISS not being inducted until 2014 and Deep Purple taking nearly two decades to earn their spot, Iron Maiden's fans will be eagerly awaiting news on whether they will join the ranks of rock legends who have received this honor.
The official induction list is set to be announced in April.
