After fierce battles across Canada, BornBroken has emerged victorious as the national winner of the Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2026 competition.
The four bands who made it to the final round clashed at Piranha Bar in Montreal on May 9, unleashing their might before a crowd of die-hard metal fans and a judging panel of industry veterans.
BornBroken will now represent Canada at the 35th anniversary of Wacken Open Air, competing against top-notch metal bands from around the globe.
WMBC organizer JJ Tartaglia praises the band: 'Congrats to BornBroken, they are sure to tear it up at Wacken this summer and do Canada proud!' BornBroken's guitarist and vocalist Mike Decker reflects on their win: 'Winning the Canadian Wacken Metal Battle still hasn't fully sunk in.
We've spent years grinding through clubs, hauling gear through snowstorms, playing to half-empty rooms, and fighting for every inch as a band.' The final four who made it to the national final were BornBroken, Ashes Of Yggdrasil from Lloydminster, AB/SK, and two other bands.
BornBroken's win belongs to everyone who supported them over the years.
Their album is available now on various platforms.
