Bruce Dickinson has confirmed the release of his eighth solo album, set for early 2027 via BMG. The project follows his 2024 solo work "The Mandrake Project" and is described as a significant evolution in his musical output. The album was recorded in January and February at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in California, with mixing to be completed at Brendan Duffey's studio in Jupiter, Florida. A full 16-song session was completed in three weeks, performed entirely live, with no AI involvement. The album features a collaboration with his son Austin, best known as former frontman of RISE TO REMAIN and AS LIONS. The recording lineup includes touring band members Mistheria, Dave Moreno, Tanya O'Callaghan, Chris Declercq, and Philip Näslund. Andreas Kisser of SEPULTURA has confirmed playing percussion on the record. The new solo project will be promoted with a series of music videos, five of which were filmed in August in Nevada by Italian-Brazilian director Leo Liberti.
Dickinson has also confirmed that IRON MAIDEN will continue its "Run For Your Lives" tour, which began in North America earlier this summer and will extend to Latin America and Oceania before concluding in Japan. The setlist draws from the band's first nine albums, spanning from the debut to "No Prayer For The Dying.", The tour features enhanced storytelling through 3D video screens, pyrotechnics, and the signature walk-on Eddies. The band maintains a consistent live performance style, emphasizing that the show remains rooted in the essence of a club performance, scaled to accommodate 40,000 fans.
The 2021 release of "Senjutsu" marks IRON MAIDEN's most recent studio album. The band concluded its "Future Past" tour in December 2024 at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, marking the final show for longtime drummer Nicko McBrain. He has been replaced by Simon Dawson, a former session drummer and rhythm section partner of bassist Steve Harris. Dickinson's solo work is expected to align closely with IRON MAIDEN activities, with promotional touring scheduled for next year. Specific details about the solo album's release and tour dates will be shared when appropriate.
