He attributed his vocal longevity to a combination of genetics, self-care, and exercise.\u202E I don't eat as much bread, but mainly that's because my wife is French, so I'm completely indoctrinated into the ways of French bread,\u202e Dickinson explained.\u202EWhen asked about his diet and exercise routine, Dickinson revealed that he still trains fencing and works out regularly to maintain his physical stamina.\u202E Dickinson also discussed how his voice has changed over time.
“The tone of my voice has changed a little bit,\u202e he said,\u202EI'm not a great believer that a voice is just about singing,\u202e Dickinson stated in a 2017 interview with the Scandinavian talk show Skavlan.\u202E Dickinson spoke to Malou Efter Tio in 2017 about how his singing voice has changed following his cancer diagnosis.
He noted that his saliva production was reduced and the shape of his tongue had changed slightly due to the tumor.\u202EHowever, Dickinson also observed that his top-end vocal range seemed improved after his treatment.\u202E Dickinson emphasized that taking care of one's voice is crucial for a singer.
