Finnish melodic death metallers Brymir have confirmed the release of their fifth album, What We Leave Behind, on October 2 via Napalm Records. The album, described as their darkest to date both musically and thematically, explores existential dread, societal decay, and personal introspection through cinematic soundscapes. It features tracks including "Slaying Star", "Tempestbound", and the title track "What We Leave Behind", which delivers a pacifist message about the fragility of human civilization.

The release includes multiple limited edition vinyl formats, such as a gatefold splatter grey black red edition with a booklet, and a clear gatefold version exclusive to the Napalm Shop and Finland. A digital version is also available for pre-order.

To celebrate the album, Brymir will play release shows in Finland before embarking on a European tour in February and March 2027. The tour will feature live performances of the album’s bonus track, a reworked cover of Scooter’s "How Much Is The Fish", which ties into the band’s ongoing advocacy against ocean pollution. Live shows have previously included salmon plushies as part of the fan experience.
