In an interview with Rock 100.5 The KATT FM, BUCKCHERRY frontman Josh Todd touched on the band's old-school rock vibe and traditional approach that has allowed them to share the stage with various types of groups over their three-decade career.
Todd explained that unlike other genres like rap-rock or shoegazer rock, BUCKCHERRY's sound doesn't fit neatly into any specific genre, allowing them to have a unique career path.
When asked about touring with 1980s rockers, Josh noted that many bands from that era still touring now often want to pair up with BUCKCHERRY.
He said it's funny how they're always lumped into the '80s rock genre, but their first record was in 1999, and they can play alongside active rock bands as well.
BUCKCHERRY recently announced the final dates of its "Roar Like Thunder" tour for 2026, which includes nine shows with BLACK STONE CHERRY and Tyler Bryant.
The tour begins at the Rockin' The Island festival in Welch, Minnesota supporting STONE TEMPLE PILOTS.
The band will also appear at the Beaver Dam Amphitheater in Kentucky supporting Bret Michaels, their annual appearance at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip during Sturgis Bike Week, Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, and then end with a date at The Vanguard in Orlando, Florida.
Following these dates, BUCKCHERRY will support the SCORPIONS on their eight-show residency in Las Vegas, Nevada from September 17 through October 3.
This marks another unique collaboration for the band after working with producer Marti Frederiksen and songwriter-for-hire on their latest album "Roar Like Thunder".
The second leg of BUCKCHERRY's summer tour will commence on June 26 in West Fargo, North Dakota and end on July 25 in Pueblo, Colorado.
