In a recent interview with Reckless Rexx Ruger of Pod Scum, CANDLEBOX frontman Kevin Martin opened up about his thoughts on the music industry.

When asked about releasing full-length albums, he stated: "I don't believe in releasing records anymore.

I think it's a waste of time," citing the fact that nobody's selling records anymore and people just want new music from their favorite bands.

He went on to say that releasing three songs at a time is his preference.\ When discussing what keeps him going after more than three decades, Kevin reflected on the emotional highs of touring and performing for fans who still love rock music.

"We played a show with SLAYER in Belgium, and the crowd had no idea who CANDLEBOX was until we played 'Far Behind.' But early on in the set, we started the set, and we watched thousands of people come in, stop and then come in further, and then they just kept coming." He also mentioned his love for playing to energetic crowds in South America, where rock music is still deeply ingrained in the culture.

Two months ago, Kevin explained to Chile's Radio Futuro why he decided to go back on tour despite announcing CANDLEBOX's farewell tour.

"It had a lot to do with the BUSH tour with Jerry Cantrell," he said, adding that Pete Klett's return to the band was another significant factor in his decision to continue touring.\ CANDLEBOX released their digital deluxe album 'A Little Longer Goodbye (Tour Edition)' via Round Hill Records in July 2024.

The digital release features all 12 tracks on the original record plus two bonus live songs, "Elegante" and "Cellphone Jesus." Additionally, the single "Washed Up" is included.\ This interview showcases Kevin Martin's candid reflections on the current state of the music industry and his own experiences as a touring artist.

It's clear that CANDLEBOX remains committed to creating and sharing their unique sound with fans around the world.
