Cathedral has announced a complete remix of its ninth studio album, The Guessing Game, set for release on October 30, 2026, via Rise Above Records. The remixed version, titled The Guessing Game (Rethink), was produced by long-time collaborator Jaime Gomez Arellano and is derived entirely from the original 2010 masters. The new mix features a stripped-down, raw, and heavier sound that aligns with the band’s original vision. In addition to the remixed tracks, the album includes alternate takes and unedited versions of songs, expanding the tracklist to span five sides of vinyl.

The release marks a significant revival of the previously overlooked album, which the band has long felt lacked the sonic depth it originally intended. With the recording rights now reverted to Cathedral, the band saw an opportunity to re-imagine the album’s sound. The remix process took place in Portugal and resulted in a more cohesive and powerful presentation.

The album features the following tracks: Immaculate Misconception, Funeral Of Dreams, Painting In The Dark, Death Of An Anarchist, The Guessing Game, Edwidge’s Eyes, Cats, Incense, Candles & Wine, One Dimensional People, The Casket Chasers, Ghost Galleon, The Running Man, and Requiem For The Voiceless. The track Edwidge’s Eyes, originally released in 2010 as a tribute to French-Italian actress Edwige Fenech, is being reissued as an advance preview.
