Cemetery Skyline, a gothic metal band formed in 2020 by musicians from Death, Dimmu Borgir, Amorphis, and other extreme metal acts, has announced a European tour set to begin in May. The band, which includes Mikael Stanne of Arch Enemy and Victor of Entombed, made its debut live show at the John Smith Festival in Finland in 2023. During that performance, Mikael Stanne sang the entire set clean, a moment described as particularly nerve-wracking and meaningful for the veteran performer.

The group, known for its tribute to 1990s gothic metal acts like Type O Negative and Fields of Nephilim, has released one full-length album and several cover songs, including 'I Drove All Night'. A traditional Finnish folk song was also performed during their Latin America headliner tour, with the band aiming to expand its setlist for the upcoming European tour.

The band’s debut album was created after initial demo sessions that attracted five record label offers. The group has emphasized its focus on visual identity, with artwork designed by French artist Metastazis to reflect a dark, gothic city aesthetic. The upcoming release is already in development, with Markus Vanhala and Santeri writing over a full album’s worth of material. Mikael Stanne is working on a concept for a Nordic Gothic world, which will serve as the foundation for the new record.

The European tour will feature Cemetery Skyline as a headliner in select cities, with the band confirming that it will play all tracks from its sole studio album and additional original material, expanding its live set to include longer, thematic performances.
