Former W.A.S.P.
guitarist Chris Holmes has canceled his previously announced tour of the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, scheduled for May 2026.
All Chris Holmes shows taking place after July remain unaffected.
On Friday (April 10), the social media of The Abyss club in Gothenburg, Sweden, where Holmes was scheduled to perform on May 27, shared the following official statement from the musician and his wife/manager Catherine Holmes: "Due to health issues that require immediate attention, we must unfortunately cancel the May tour.
We will keep you updated as soon as we have more information.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for your understanding, and we ask that you please accept our apologies." Holmes was diagnosed with throat and neck cancer in February 2022, forcing him to postpone his touring commitments while he received treatment.
He completed seven weeks of radiation therapy and later announced the good news that his cancer was "gone".
As a founding member of W.A.S.P., Holmes joined the band in 1982 and remained with them until 1990.
In 1996, he returned to W.A.S.P.
and stayed until 2001.
Chris has not played with W.A.S.P.
since.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk", Holmes discussed his history with W.A.S.P., stating that the band had evolved from a group to a one-man show over time.
He emphasized his essential role in shaping the band's sound, crediting himself for contributing guitar work to several songs on their early records.
The cancellation of his tour is a significant setback for fans who were eagerly awaiting his live performances.
The news has been met with disappointment and understanding from supporters around the world.
