In a new interview with Omar Rodriguez of The Metal Mixtape, former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland was asked about his thoughts on the impact of the band's many lineup changes over the years.

Poland responded that he doesn't think all the different guitar players had negatively affected MEGADETH's sound or commercial success.

He praised Marty Friedman's work with the band, calling it "the pinnacle" of MEGADETH's sound.

However, he also acknowledged that each guitarist brought something new to the table and helped shape the band's unique sound.

Poland was part of MEGADETH from 1984 to 1987, during which time he performed on the band's classic albums.

He also made a guest appearance on their 2004 album.

In related news, former MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine reflected on the lineup changes in an interview with Consequence.

He stated that while MEGADETH has had its share of changes, it's not as many as some other bands have experienced.

Currently, Mustaine says he thinks the band is operating at a magical level, despite the challenges posed by frequent personnel shifts.
