During an appearance on the latest episode of Mohr Stories, THE BLACK CROWES frontman Chris Robinson reflected on the band's 2015 breakup.
The split was reportedly caused by his demand for a greater ownership stake in the band and wanting to make drummer Steve Gorman a salaried employee.
In a candid interview, Robinson described feeling heartbroken and angry over the situation, stating that he had removed himself from the band due to its focus on "chasing money" rather than artistry.
Robinson discussed his decision to leave the band, citing his desire for creative control and financial fairness within the group.
He also acknowledged feeling selfish and self-indulgent in his actions at the time.
When asked about his experiences outside of THE BLACK CROWES, Robinson mentioned forming the CHRIS ROBINSON BROTHERHOOD, which lasted for eight years before disbanding.
He reflected on how this project helped him find a new sense of purpose after the band's hiatus.
Robinson and his brother, Rich Robinson, have since reunited with the band and embarked on a successful tour.
They have released two studio albums: 2024's Grammy Award-nominated "Happiness Bastards" and 2026's "A Pound Of Feathers".
The latter album was released via Silver Arrow Records on March 13.
