Just days after CKY bassist Mike Leon announced his departure citing "toxicity" and "unprofessionalism," frontman Chad I Ginsburg has publicly disputed the claims – insisting Leon was actually fired for "hating dogs." Taking to Instagram on February 20, Leon confirmed he would not appear at the band's upcoming shows.

In a lengthy statement, Leon described joining CKY as a lifelong ambition that gradually soured behind the scenes.

The former Soulfly bassist claimed the internal issues made an already stressful environment increasingly difficult to work in.

However, Ginsburg has responded via Instagram Stories, flatly rejecting Leon's claims and providing a bizarre reason for his departure: "We fired you last night because you hate dogs and you didn't want to tour with us." The frontman then posted an open call for Nashville-based bassists to DM audition tapes – suggesting the band is moving forward swiftly despite the public spat.

Ginsburg's statements appear to contradict Leon's claims of a toxic environment, leaving fans wondering what really went down behind closed doors.

In a bizarre twist, Ginsburg seems to be moving on from the situation without giving much credence to Leon's allegations.
