In a recent interview with Chris Akin of the Classic Metal Show, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist Woody Weatherman opened up about the band's past and future.
Weatherman reflected on the passing of co-founding drummer Reed Mullin in 2020, saying it was 'heavy' losing a brother like that.
However, he noted that Mullin's health issues had been ongoing for years prior to his death.
Weatherman also talked about the band's recent release, 'Good God / Baad Man,' and how Stanton Moore's drumming on the album reminded him of Reed's style.
He praised Moore as a fantastic drummer in his own right.
Woody Weatherman acknowledged that Mike Dean's departure from the band was a shock, but Dean had made an amicable decision to leave due to health issues and other projects.
Weatherman emphasized that CORROSION OF CONFORMITY is moving forward with Bobby 'Rock' Landgraf on bass, who he describes as another great musician.
Weatherman highlighted that Landgraf's approach to the bass is slightly different from Dean's, but still effective.
In a statement posted on social media in September 2024, Mike Dean explained his decision to leave CORROSION OF CONFORMITY after 40 years.
He expressed pride in everything the band has accomplished together and looked forward to hearing more from the band in the future.
The remaining members of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, Woody Weatherman and Pepper Keenan, have also released a statement supporting Dean's decision to leave and wishing him well in his future endeavors.
They emphasized that this is not the end for CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, as they continue to create new music and move forward with their plans.
The band recently announced the addition of drummer Nick Shabatura to their lineup.
