MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine has clarified his political stance, stressing that he does not identify as a 'right-winger'.

In a new interview with The New York Times, the 64-year-old guitarist/vocalist said, "I'm a Christian, and I answer to a different set of angels. I obey the law, but no, I'm not a right-winger." He also insisted that he is spiritual, not religious.

Mustaine has made headlines in the past for his political thoughts, often sparking controversy with statements like peeing on the White House floor and expressing support for ultraconservative presidential candidates.

However, in this latest interview, he emphasized his independence from any particular party and encouraged people to vote based on their own convictions.

This clarification comes as a surprise to some fans who have previously associated Mustaine with right-wing views.

Nevertheless, it remains clear that the metal legend is unapologetic about expressing his opinions and using music as a platform for social commentary.
