David Ellefson Discusses Relationship with Ex-Bandmate Dave Mustaine

Former Megadeth bassist, David Ellefson, spoke about his relationship with ex-bandmate, Dave Mustaine during an interview with Gustavo Olmedo on the "Quemar Un Patrullero" podcast.

Said Ellefson, “You know, when I went back to Megadeth in 2010, we were close.

We were really close.

You know, I was helping him with some personal things.

He became a good friend to me during that time.\u202F\u202FHowever, he added that their relationship took a turn for the worse during the band's final album, The Sick, The Dying
 And The Dead!.

“Even on that last album, The Sick, The Dying
 And The Dead!, he didn’t want to use any of my music.

I could tell he resented me.\u202F\u202FFurthermore, Ellefson revealed that Mustaine took his lyrics off a song and used them without his permission.

“Dave and I even had a really close moment.

We were writing the lyrics for the song that became ‘Soldier On!’ He eventually took my lyrics off of it and then used the song without
 he wrote the music,\u202F\u202FDespite this, Ellefson is proud of his work with Metal Church, who recently released their new album Dead To Rights.
