British heavy metal shapeshifters Desert Storm have announced their new album, Buried Under The Weight Of Reason, set for release on March 6 via Heavy Psych Sounds Records.

The album fuses sludge, doom, and heavy metal heft with moments of softness, space, and vulnerability. Across nine expansive tracks, Desert Storm explore themes of wilderness, ritual, and human chaos, broadening their sound while maintaining their instinct for hook-driven heaviness.

The band has spotlighted the evocative new track “Woodsman,” which captures the album’s primal core.

“Woodsman is a journey into the wild—an evocative blend of crushing heaviness and contemplative stillness,” the band explain.

Inspired by reclusive wilderness figures of myth and memory, the song explores renunciation, survival, and rediscovery. The forest emerges as both sanctuary and adversary—a place where rage and feral instinct collide with reverence, wonder, and ancestral wisdom. Its shifting dynamics mirror the unknown: sometimes violent, sometimes serene, always alive.

Buried Under The Weight Of Reason follows 2023’s Death Rattle and marks a bold new chapter for the band. Released worldwide via Heavy Psych Sounds Records—home to Pentagram, Bongzilla, Conan, and Mondo Generator—the album positions Desert Storm as one of the underground’s most compelling forward-thinking forces.
