Metal outfit DevilDriver have parted ways with long-time guitarist Mike Spreitzer after a two-decade run, and in his place, they've welcomed Gabe Mangold (Enterprise Earth, Dead Icarus, The Beauty & The Horror) to the fold.
In a post on social media, DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara expressed enthusiasm over the new addition, praising Mangold's skill and character, stating that their partnership came at an opportune time.
As for Spreitzer's departure, he cited feelings of underemployment in recent years as his primary reason for leaving the band, along with what he perceived as unnecessary criticism of his side project Verona On Venus by Fafara.
Tensions between the two musicians reportedly escalated over the years, with Spreitzer later confirming that Fafara was the 'specific individual' referenced in a past statement regarding negative comments about his side project.
