California metallers DEVILDRIVER have unleashed the aggressive vibes of their eleventh full-length album, Strike And Kill, for the first time live.
The band played their new single, 'Dig Your Own Grave', at Welcome To Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida on May 9, with fan-filmed video of the performance available below.
The song is taken from DEVILDRIVER's upcoming July release via Napalm Records.
In a recent interview with Jai That Aussie Metal GuyLink, frontman and mastermind Dez Fafara discussed the album, stating: "My headspace hasn't changed.
I have not become complacent or soft in my view of the world or in my music." He added, "'Strike And Kill' is about how one wrong decision can see your whole world turned upside down...
it's that simple." The album features tracks such as 'Dig Your Own Grave', a flurry of assault rifle kicks and crunchy riffs that encircle the listener casting them into the waiting abyss.
Other tracks include 'Dead In The Water', showcasing the band's melodeath tapestries, and 'Sanctified In Scars', implementing industrial pulsating beats and ethereal sonic textures.
The album bursts open with 'Dig Your Own Grave' before transitioning into other tracks like 'Strike And Kill', built upon the backs of blisteringly technical riffage and dizzyingly swift drumming by Davier Perez.
The band will be touring across the western United States in support of the album, starting August 14 in San Diego, California, with a slew of major cities set to be visited before the tour concludes on September 5 in Anaheim, California.
DEVILDRIVER's current lineup features frontman Dez Fafara alongside guitarist duo Alex Lee and Gabe Mangold, drummer Davier Ortega Perez, and returning bassist Jon Miller., This year DEVILDRIVER sets out on a rabid hunt with 'Strike And Kill', holding the blade to your throat, and serving up that trademark DEVILDRIVER blend of melodeath elegance, blackened atmosphere, tectonic grooves, and Fafara's iconic visceral delivery.
