In a recent conversation with Home Studio podcast, Canadian multi-instrumentalist Devin Townsend discusses his vocal technique and the evolution of the music industry.

When asked how his voice has survived for over three decades despite having no formal vocal training, Townsend jokes that he simply doesn't sing much.

He elaborates, 'I don't know, because it shouldn't have.

I mean, maybe on a practical level it's because I don't sing a lot, so I'm saving it.' Townsend also touches on his relationship with the music industry, admitting that hiring a team of younger staff members has allowed him to focus more on music creation rather than social media and business management.

Townsend's upcoming rock opera, "The Moth", is set for release on May 29 via InsideOut Music.

The album, which began as a vague vision over a decade ago, will be released in three distinct parts: the main album, "The Moth - The Afterlife", and "The Moth - The War".

The latter showcases a live performance of the album with an orchestra and choir.

In addition to his new album release, Devin Townsend will embark on a European solo tour, titled 'Metamorphosis', in September and October 2026.

The tour promises a unique experience for fans, featuring a varied setlist that is sure to change night by night.
