Industrial metal veterans DoPE have confirmed that they will be releasing their debut album no country for old men on April 18, following a resolution to the dispute over the name doPE.

The project was announced earlier this year and features collaborations between Chuck D of Public Enemy and John Densmore of The Doors.

However, excitement around the record was tempered when Edsel Dope publicly expressed concerns about the name doPE, citing his long-standing ownership of the trademark.

After a public statement from Chuck D on February 7, the issue has been amicably resolved.

In a post shared by Chuck D, he thanked Edsel Dope for giving them his blessing to use the name doPE.

The collaboration between Chuck and John dates back to Record Store Day 2014 when they met during a panel discussion.

The idea for the project crystallized via email later that year and the name was chosen as a visual and conceptual hybrid drawing from both artists' legacies.

Despite Edsel Dope's concerns, he expressed his admiration for the artists involved in the collaboration and wished them well.
