A police investigation has been launched after a couple was allegedly caught in an intimate act while riding the Ferris wheel at this year's edition of the U.K.'s Download festival.

The incident occurred on Saturday, June 13, while fans were waiting for GUNS N' ROSES to take the stage for their headlining performance.

According to reports, the intimate moment was captured on camera and has been making its way around social media.

A witness described the scene as 'weirdly unifying', but others have condemned the behavior as 'vile'.

The incident is currently under investigation by Leicestershire Police, who are working with festival organizers to identify those involved.

Download festival, which celebrates its 24th edition this year, has hosted some of rock's biggest names over the years, including IRON MAIDEN, SLIPKNOT and GREEN DAY.
