Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess has shared a heartfelt video tribute to the late multi-instrumentalist Ralph Towner, pairing archival performance footage with a personal message.

“Ralph created this piece while he was part of the Paul Winter Consort, an ensemble I also played with years later,” Rudess said. “We never crossed paths in person, but the music connects us.” Towner, a highly influential American composer, arranger, bandleader, and multi-instrumentalist, passed away on January 18, 2026, at age 85.

In related news, guitarist Joscho Stephan has released a new video featuring Dream Theater’s John Petrucci, taken from Stephan’s new album Take-Off. The guest-heavy release also includes appearances by Tommy Emmanuel, Matteo Mancuso, and Jerry Douglas.
