Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy Reacts to Rush's Upcoming Tour and Shares His Thoughts on the Band

Drumeo has shared a clip of Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy reacting to and performing β€œShake It Off” from Taylor Swift’s album 1989.

The performance is part of an upcoming video series featuring Portnoy playing popular songs by non-metal artists.

In related news, Portnoy recently spoke about Rush's upcoming Fifty Something tour during an interview with SonarFM Chile.

When asked if he plans to attend any shows on Rush's tour, Portnoy responded enthusiastically, β€œOh absolutely.

I cannot wait to see it.

I’m so curious what it’s going to be like.\u2022 He went on to express his happiness about seeing Rush reunite and his thoughts on why it was important for the band to continue performing.

You know, Rush is thankfully coming back,” Portnoy said.

β€œA year ago, if we were having this discussion, we would say there is no Rush.

There is no Van Halen.

There is no more Black Sabbath.
