Metalcore outfit Erra have released their punishing new single, "i. the many names of god," out now via UNFD.
The track marks the beginning of what the band calls the "trilogy of silence outlives the earth," a three-song arc that concludes the upcoming album and includes "ii.
in the gut of the wolf" and "iii.
twilight in the reflection of dreams." On the new single, the band explained: "'i.
the many names of god' is the first in what we consider the trilogy of silence outlives the earth.
The trilogy represents a distinct shift in tone from the previous songs on the record.
We wanted the aesthetic of the tracklisting to persuade the feeling of that shift.
The record transitions to a darker place at this point, and 'many names' serves to take the heaviest moods expressed in the preceding tracks and visceralize them." Erra's new album album silence outlives the earth is set for release on March 6 via UNFD.
In support of the album, Erra will embark on a co-headlining tour with Currents across North America alongside openers Caskets and Aviana.
The tour gets underway on March 6 at the Nevermore in Baltimore, MD, and concludes on April 19 at the Vibes Event Center in San Antonio, TX.
