The obscure Swedish death metal band Eructation is finally getting their due with the official release of their demo and compilation album, The Fumes of Putrefaction.

The collection features the band's original demo from 1992, along with previously unreleased tracks from late 1993 and early 1995.

The result is a unique blend of technical riffwork, atmospheric soundscapes, and aggressive vocals that defies the conventions of Swedish death metal.

Vocally, frontman Mattias shifts between a David Vincent-style growl and a more personal edge on some tracks.

Drum production is sharp throughout, but bass occasionally gets lost in the mix.

The compilation is now available on streaming services and physical copies can be found relatively inexpensively online.\
