Thrash metal veterans EvilDead are set to reissue their cult albums Annihilation of Civilization and The Underworld on CD, LP, and digital formats on March 27.
Originally released in 1989 and 1991, the albums have been newly remastered by Bill Metoyer. Both records represent foundational chapters in EvilDead’s history, pairing high-speed thrash aggression with socially conscious and politically charged lyrics.
Guitarist Juan Garcia has described the late 1980s and early 1990s as pivotal years for the band, when EvilDead were signed to Steamhammer and released their first two full-length albums. Despite the shifting industry landscape and the rise of grunge in the United States, the band remained committed to its thrash metal roots.
The reissues will include bonus tracks and will be released worldwide via Steamhammer.
