In a new interview with Oran O'Beirne of Fistful Of Metal magazine, EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt spoke about the possibility of the band one day calling it quits.
Holt compared this to MEGADETH's recent farewell tour announcement, stating that he hopes EXODUS will have at least 25 more years before considering retirement.
However, he acknowledges that age is catching up with him and his fellow musicians.
Holt also discussed his decade-and-a-half tenure as a SLAYER guitarist, where he watched grown men break down in tears during the band's final show in November 2019.
He shared his own emotional response to EXODUS's final big show in L.A., where he burst into tears playing the closing moments of 'Angel Of Death.' Holt weighed in on MEGADETH's farewell tour announcement, calling Dave Mustaine's decision 'earned' and stating that Mustaine will be 65 years old by the time EXODUS releases its next album.
Holt has been sober for five years and hopes to spend more time with his grandchildren before slowing down.
In a discussion with Germany's Metal.de last summer, Holt revealed he's feeling tired but is determined to keep touring and recording with EXODUS until they can't.
He's had elbow problems, hand problems, and shoulder problems, but hasn't considered retirement.
If forced to stop, Holt joked about turning to a life of crime.
