In a recent interview with The Mistress Carrie Podcast, EXTREME guitarist Nuno Bettencourt confirmed that the band has finished working on its seventh studio album.
This new effort will be the follow-up to "Six", which was released in June 2023 via earMUSIC.
The upcoming album is said to feature around 18-20 new tracks and promises to be EXTREME's best work yet, surpassing even their previous critically acclaimed album.
Bettencourt described the new songs as a modern take on the band's signature sound, blending heavy riffs with funk elements in a way that is both nostalgic and innovative.
According to Bettencourt, the band has been working tirelessly to create music that truly showcases their passion and commitment to rock 'n' roll.
He expressed excitement about sharing this new material with fans, saying "You really have to be super proud and super excited to share your music with anybody." The exact release date for the album remains uncertain, but Bettencourt hinted that it might be released towards the end of the year.
This news comes after EXTREME's highly successful tour in support of their 2023 album "Six", which featured standout singles like "Rise" and "Banshee".
Their historic performance at Ozzy Osbourne's farewell concert only added to their growing reputation as one of rock's most commanding bands.
