In a new interview with Donny Fandango of St.

Louis's alternative radio station 105.7 The Point, FILTER frontman Richard Patrick discussed his new industrial trap metal project A PLACE TO KILL.

The debut track for this side project is the heavy and in-your-face industrial number "The Killing Field", which was released earlier this year as a B-side on FILTER's limited-edition vinyl single "For The Beaten".

In an interview with Donny Fandango, Richard Patrick explained that A PLACE TO KILL features vocalist Jim Louvau, who brings his incredible scream ability to the table.

"He is a famous photographer," says Patrick.

"But [Jim] has this amazing scream, this ability to just scream his butt off." The project's sound is described as industrial trap metal with elements of dubstep, which Patrick refers to as "deathstep".

When asked if he does any singing in A PLACE TO KILL, Patrick replied that while Jim Louvau is the main singer, he sings backup vocals.

He emphasizes that his role is more focused on creating music, whereas Jim's screams are the core element of their sound.

A PLACE TO KILL released its debut track earlier this year and was initially set for a June release, but no specific date has been confirmed yet.

However, Patrick expressed excitement about sharing their music with fans, stating that he'd "love it if it ever got on the radio." With FILTER working on a new album, 'The Antidote', featuring 12 songs, it's possible that A PLACE TO KILL may be an EP or standalone release in the near future.

Richard Patrick has been vocal about his strong opinions and political views over the years.

As he continues to push boundaries through music with projects like FILTER and now A PLACE TO KILL, fans can expect innovative sounds from this musical mastermind.
