In an interview with Eric Broadbent of Rock Shop LIVE, FILTER frontman Richard Patrick discussed his new industrial trap metal project, A PLACE TO KILL.

He is collaborating with vocalist Jim Louvau on the band's debut track "The Killing Field", which was released as the B-side of FILTER's limited-edition vinyl single "For The Beaten" in early 2023.,According to Patrick, A PLACE TO KILL is a wild industrial trip that will come out in June.

He described the project as heavy and fun music for the apocalypse, inspired by recent political events in the United States.,This is absolutely music for fast driving and destroying a television set, and craziness and anger, said Patrick.

The funny thing is you'd think that I'd mellow with age or something, but I'm not mellowing.

I'm getting more and more bitter and crazy and harder.,The EP will feature an industrial-heavy sound and will be released on either June 3rd or June 4th.

Richard Patrick has been very vocal about his political views in recent years as an outspoken opponent of the Republican party's hard-line stance on social issues.,Patrick left NINE INCH NAILS in 1993 to form FILTER, whose debut album "Short Bus" achieved platinum status in 1995.

He has since released several albums with FILTER, including "Anthems For The Damned", "The Trouble With Angels", and "The Algorithm".
